I will propably move to Doha for 6 months and I have a dog that I will bring with me. I have arranged for the relocation procedure foe the dog, but I would appreciate any help concerning the type of house or appartment I must have in order to keep the dog with me. Thanks in advance.
Another issue here with small dogs...they are more likely to be stolen. They sometimes turn up in pet shops so make sure you have a very secure garden.
You should definitely check with landlords before renting somewhere as many places will not allow pets.
Also, have you checked you'll be able to take your dog home when you leave Qatar, without it having to go into quarantine for 6 months (for example, a dog coming from Qatar to the UK has to do this).
I have been here in Doha for 2 ½ years and I am a dog lover from the US. I did not bring my boys here with me but since I arrived I have taken in two dogs that I have found wondering the streets. The first now he is a resident of Texas, and the 2nd well she will stay here with me till I head home. I have found that to the people here in Qatar do not find the same satisfaction in pets as you or I might. People here are not as fond of dogs as we may be and they are intimidated of even the smallest dog. Keep this in mind and keep your boy or girl on a leash until you find out how the people around you will react and you and you loved one will have a good time. Now keep in mind that it may cost more to get him home then It was to get here, I am not sure but you need to check. This is the second flat I have lived in and never did I ask for or felt I needed permission, from what I can tell as long as the rent is paid then you are golden. good luck

neighbours will object having dog in apartment, but you can have dog in a villa.
In most of the buildings in Doah, you need to take permission from the owner of the flat to keep the dog in the appartment.
If you rent a villa then you are free. :-)
