Traffic to ease on C-Ring Road after November 10
A major stretch of C-Ring Road, from Ramada Intersection to Al Kinana Intersection (near La Cigale hotel), which is partially closed, will be fully open for traffic from November 10, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) said yesterday.
Completion of work on this road is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion on C-Ring Road, which is witnessing a major expansion. The three-lane road has been upgraded to four lanes in each direction.
Ashghal also said that work on Salwa Road related to the C-Ring Road development project has started. Work is under way in both directions of the road starting from Al Asiri Intersection towards Jabor Bin Ahmed Intersection (Ramada Intersection) and to The Centre Roundabout.
The project is intended to double the capacity by increasing the number of lanes from two to four in each direction, besides converting the Centre Roundabout to a signal-controlled intersection. [The Peninsula]
about time!...that stretch from the Qtel Signal through Jaidah Flyover through Centre R/A to Ramada signal is the epitome of Doha's traffic scene. A nightmare place to drive through indeed.
