Qatar slips to 5th best country to be an expat
In terms of 'Economics', Qatar is the 5th best country in the world to live as an expatriate - slipping down 2 spots since last year.
Now Qatar lags behind newcomers Oman and Singapore, together with Switzerland and China right on top.
When taking 'Experience' and 'Raising children' into account, Qatar then drops down to 13th on a global scale - the same position it held last year.
This is all according the annual HSBC survey that looks at economic opportunities and quality of life for expats in 34 countries.
And as highlighted in the past, this study focuses only on part of the expat community - unskilled labourers are seemingly not included in the study.
In terms of 'Raising children', Qatar is still at the bottom of the list, sitting at number 21 out of 34 countries that had sufficient data.
And when looking at 'Experience' only, Qatar sits closer to the bottom of the list at number 28, out of the 34 countries.
While Qatar is the world's richest country per capita, it is a country in transition.
Many residents enjoy amenities like housemaids and five-star airlines, but infrastructure is lacking and there's a big gap between the rich and poor, the Business Insider observed.
Have a look at the full results of the study here, and play around with the different options.
