Jobless people - How do u spend your day??

ZiggyZaggy
By ZiggyZaggy

Hello people,

I am currently jobless -- in fact jobless for the past 3 months!! I had come here in search of a job, No company seems to be responding to my applications.

I mostly cook (easy) recipes, watch TV, surf the net for job opportunities, go shopping only when my dad`s back from office to take me out.

So would like to know, how r my other jobless friends spending their time in this country? I get bored `n irritated sometimes when there`s nothing to do and when I`m idle n others are out there working... :(

C`mon people, let`s share some stuff here :)

Zaggy, be yourself ! I mean find joy in everything you do. I know its really difficult, you may even feel dramatic at instances, but that could reshape your life. You could feel the real joy of being alive sooner. I donno what could make you really easy and happy , but being reasonable could be the best thin in life! And find a job which suits you best for your qualification. And then, you'll be just fine!

Dear ZiggyZaggy

These are very difficult times no doubt. This year both myself and my son got Redundancy Letters the same day!!!!

That was in Dubai. I had lots of pending issues so I got busy with them in India and elsewhere. When I did come back to Dubai the free time was good but of course my wife won't let me rest. I had too many offers so I was not exactly concerned.

My son though keeps applying and applying but there are more scamsters at work then genuine recruiters. I do understand the frustrations and it is not easy at all. If you want my two cents ...then do look for jobs all over the World for at least couple of hours a day. Try to add qualifications as you do have some universities here in Doha as well. Go for gym an hour or so and don't go into a shell. Try to keep in touch with friends though they will avoid you. Never mind.

I wish you all the best

i have a lot of spare time in the night so i decided to study something. i studied photo editing (photoshop cs4) in few weeks, started on some simple projects and shared it to my friends. few months ago i studied video editing and AVP photomontage (adobe after effects) made few projects and to my suprise alot of people love my videos, planning to make alot more. btw im not even in the IT/Computer tech field, i just love what i do.

for a couple of months last year and I actually enjoyed it.

I was extremely busy volunteering and doing community and church activities.. and it made my time fruitful and much more valuable than sitting in an office and getting paid at the end of the month.

I also scheduled 3 sessons per day: 1 for reading (from 8 to 9 am..), one for exercising (10 to 11) and one for fancy cooking ...

Oh and I used for wake up early, at 7.00 am, and it made me feel active and full of life.

Good luck

Yasery, I am under my father`s sponsor. I understand the policies behind Visit Visa.

Nachu, yeah it would be better if u could throw some more light on "Google Adware". Give us some briefings about it here, which would benefit all.

dashingwhitesergeant, I understand about wt u trying to say. But if u think of it from my point of view, its gets frustrating, when u sit idle every day home thinking about what more u could do to get a job. Neither is it making me happy by thinking of myself as lucky compared to those who hav lost their jobs. My question was a very general one, intended for all those people without jobs (which includes people who hav lost their jobs coz of recession).

Good luck to all! :)

3 months without work, are you under husband sponsor? if not your visit visa will expire and you have to pay penalties and be deported. but if you are under husband sponsor you are fine

I think you're lucky you're not like a heluva lot of people who, when they lose their job, lose their house, all their credit, their family and get deeper and deeper into debt rendering them completely worthless specimens of humanity.

On my jobless day /day off, its totally a lazy day for me. I just lay down all day sleeping or watching film.

Once in a blue moon, i clean up one particular area of the house (like my closet)

Go to places where you could probably find people to associate with. I mean, it would be much helpful to get a membership in local clubs and spend your time there for while, if you're into sports. And that public library too is a good idea.
