hello, i'm almost 6 months here in qatar and still living alone, hehehe no friends, meron mang namemeet na kabayan kaso di man yata trip makipag friends. As for now the internet is my only friend here in qatar and my guitar (which i bring with me on purpose). Ask ko lang meron bang bars or pubs dito na merong live bands? I have researched a lot of things about Qatar's culture, traditions, Crime rate and violence...etc... and somehow my peace is broken... Now I am not so sure anymore if I have made the right decision to pursue a career in DOha, Qatar.

It seems like Qatar is dominated by males and there's a danger of a woman being along (am I too paramoid???). As of now there's a news about an employer sending (his/her) employee to prison becuase the employee complained about compensation and salaries.

Others have bad experience in there work and wanted to resign.

It's like I'm having a fear of the Unknown...

Anyways, Im 32 years old, single and from the Philippines.

waaaahh... im here! DOHA gave me a warm welcome! a very warm one! i didnt expect that it will be this hot. even at night is hot! sand and dust were all over the place. traffic was heavy and drivers were all hot headed.. wow! the food were also different.. it was really shocking..

and unfortunately, i dont have a net connection on my accomodation,even a cable tv, also i still have to apply for my local license for my company car..

It seems ur first time to work abroad. You can freely bring bible and rosary beads, but keep inside ur luggage for safety reason, and dont hand carry them. Likewise, dont carry also liquid items, perfumes anything pressurized, bawal sa plane un. register now then when you arrive in doha, fax them your priv club number with your boarding pass/copy of ticket to credit the points to you.

just to be sure, bring an extra bag for hand carry in case your check in luggage exceed 20kls and will not honor your priv club membership as you are a new member. it will come handy to transfer the excess kls in it. (remember this whether or not your flight will be QA or other airline)

burgundy level is entitled for 5 kls. additional on baggage... FYI :), if he will register he will start on privelege level only.

what and what not to bring, make sure your luggage is only 20kls for check-in and 7 kls handcarry. if your ticket will be Qatar Airways, register for the Privilege Club now so you will be allowed to at least an addition of 5 kls in checkin, though not a guarantee... dont bring your fave canned foods and noodles, shampoos, soaps etc as they are all available here in the filipino stores... that said... good luck and have a nice trip... im sure you'll enjoy it here...

if you are into basketball, you can hang out at Sana Basketball Court in the old Salatha district near Sana. Pinoy streetballers play everyday in the afternoon and Friday morning as well.

basic work clothes...not too much though coz you have a limited baggage allowance...or you could pay if you have an extra cash...but a little expensive...just bring the necessary things...you could buy the rest of your stuff here...

Madalas may mga event kami s grupo. Sometimes, katawan mo na ang aayaw kahit gusto mo pang sumama sa kasayahan ng grupo pero hindi na kaya ng katawan mo meaning dami ng event. Hahahahah...
