VIDEO: Sheikh Jassim, the fierce warrior of Qatar

Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammad Al Thani, better known as "the founder of the State of Qatar", was a fierce warrior who fought for the freedom and unification of his country.

He was a true leader as well as a brave knight and saw his country through conflicts with Bahrain, the Ottomans and the British, and won the famous Al Wajba Battle in 1893. This battle provided the foundations of the modern state of Qatar.

Sheikh Jassim may be gone, but his legacy continues. Today, Qatar is flourishing and one of the richest countries in the world; we owe it all to Sheikh Jassim and all the leaders that followed.
