Things to do in Ramadan
During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk for the entire month, an act that brings joy and contentment to every Muslim who experiences the practice. We pray that this blessed month brings divine blessings to all of us.
This year, Muslims celebrate the month of fasting during some very challenging times. Islam and Muslims are under microscopic investigation. Every day new terms are coined to describe Islam. Sometimes, the believing Muslims are described as radical Islamists and Islamo-fascists. Often, our faith is linked with terror and we are accused of crimes that we ourselves discover when we open the front page of newspapers.
In times of difficulty, our only source of strength is our faith in the absolute power of God. We know that if we have His protection and guidance, we will be able to overcome all the challenges that surround us.
This month of Ramadan is giving us yet one more opportunity to re-dedicate ourselves to the absolute power of the divine and refocus our lives to worshipping Him and Him alone. Each of us can develop an individual plan to benefit from and we can all do something extra to earn some additional grace from God, the Almighty.
Here are a few suggestions that we can look into:
1. Let us make it a habit to visit the mosque as often as possible but atlas once a day with our families.
2. Let us make it a habit to break fast with fellow Muslims in the mosque at least once a week.
3. Let us invite our non-Muslim friends and neighbors to join us in the breaking of our fasts.
4. Let us pool our efforts and resources to feeding the homeless.
5. Let us be extra-generous and donate our money to worthy causes.
6. Let us encourage our children to offer taraweeh prayers with us at the mosque.
7. Let us at least try to complete reading the Quran with meaning once.
8. Let us ensure that we mend our relations with everyone regardless of the mistakes on the part of others.
9. Let us spend some time in seclusion at night praying to the Almighty.
10. Let us ensure that we will not hurt anyone and control our anger in all situations
12. Let us spend more time with our families especially in breaking the fast.
13. Let us make sure that we don't miss our Fajr prayer and pray all the other prayers on time.
14. Let us donate at least one book on Islam to a local library.
15. Let us ensure that we offer Zakat ul Fitr ahead of Eid prayers so that the poor and the needy can make use of it in an appropriate manner.
Let us place our trust in Allah in everything that we do. May Allah accept our

peace!!
Eddy dear, please keep this forum restricted for Ramadan teachings and we could discuss in detail in some other thread :)
Peace
U dint say ONLY, but you could have told '..with all mankind" instead of "..other muslims"
And though charity happens when there's love and kindness, charity is not the only way to show love and kindness I guess!!!
and Ramadan is the most popular month of fasting, which is followed by Eid festival.
My humble request not to show arrogance here and allow everybody to comment to their best of the knowledge.
This is what we have been taught by our Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings upon Him)
Things to do in RAMADAN.....
Pray 5 times a day, Keep Fasting, read Qura'n and control your temperament,
Share your love and kindness with other muslims, do charity and grab all the opportunities available to be a good human being and a good muslim....
Above all try to practise not ONLY in Ramadan but round a year :)
Peace
Did I said ONLY.........the title of my post is Islam is a Universal Religion :) Charity begins from Home, then to neighbours then to all....
Thanks Miss Mimi!
Eddy, I was pregnant last Ramadan and basically I just carried a bottle of water along with me and tried to drink it as discreetly as possible. However, when I was at doctors appointments I didn't hesitate to drink.
If your wife is obviously pregnant she is exempt from fasting (therefore can't be arrested for drinking or eating in public).

Emy, Am not a muslim!
Tinkerbell, thanks for being a rescuer... :)
tinker, in such things muslims will nt know wht to do thats why we have sheikh in mosques to get more info from him.
Mohamed Elnagar, tks for the info, thought he was asking islamically if it is permissible or forbidden
tinker, if he is muslim and asking islamically so here is not the right place to ask the question but if he is not and want to know if she can drink in public then no prblm of asking here, just to clarify.
The Problem he is not muslim !!!!!
Eddy, u should not ask such questions in QL as not all people here muslims and ure getting answers from non muslims as well, u better ask a sheikh in the mosque he will guide u better than any answers here.

but my office met is not muslim and he drink &eat its ok
Because this is our religion and not any one to comply with the rules
thanks QLFan
Thanks tinkerbell10!
She normally has her routine appointments at HMC during the morning hours say between 8am-12pm and heard from a few people that drinking water inside HMC is also not allowed which is worrying Cos normally the process of meeting the doc, pharmacy and getting dates for the next appointment takes atleast an hour or two or more.
Hope she can sip a little H2O when no one's looking.. ;)
God was given to patients and allows travelers not to fast
And God loves to take that was given to allow
So it's not to fast because they slide under patients
Eddy, Just for your additional information: As I know even MUSLIM pregnant women are exempted from fasting.

RobertRetford, You might have observed among Muslims for their mental and physical preparation for performing spiritual activities during Ramadan. This post is one of such element.
Guys, a quick question.
