Shawarma, Shawarma, Shawarma

Ok first of all, I have NEVER tasted shawarma as good as they have in Bahrain. The "Shawarma Alley" had so many little shops that sell teh same tasting...but WONDERFUL shawarma.

I have yet to find anything that comes close to the shawarma in Bahrain. There are so many different kinds here. None of them taste the same. So, I have given up on finding good shawarma in Qatar.

What is everyones favorite Shawarma place here?

al-enabi has the best shawarma in Qatar, its past al- waab petrol station.

If you would like to try the best chicken sandwich in Qatar (no joke), on al nasr street or mirgab (its the same thing) theres a cafe called speednet right next to the family food. go inside and order a "Shishtawook sandwich"

I guarantee you, you will forget all about the shawermas in bahrain after trying this. It has been rated as the best chicken sandwitch in qatar.

I'm so glad to find that it's not only me that feels this way!

The shawarma in Bahrain are all about being cheap & tasting great.

The rubbish out here is all about being expensive & "fancy".

Shawarma meat shouldn't be a light colour. It should be darkened by all the herbs & spices in it.

bu9ala7 anyone?

After reading all these posts about the shawarma in Bahrain, now I came to know why they are building that bridge to like Qatar - Bahrain.

They can call it Shawarma Bridge.

Bahrain DOES have the best Shawarma ever. I've tried it in many countries.

They also have the best tikka (Arabic Tikka not Indian Tikka).

btw, people,FYI,the so-called "turkish shawarma" is a misnonmer, there is no such thing,it tastes good @ marmama & a couple of other places in town & i enjoy it myself but it's called doner kebab, shawarma is NOT traditional Turkish food,so if we're truly discussing shawarma, only the other Arab type of shawarmas actually qualify...

I know this topic is old but haven't you checked out Turkey Central (Turkey Restaurant, dunno the exact name) yet? It's where I've tasted the most delicious shawarma so far. Just that they're kinda slow but it's worth the wait when you eat the food.

Talking about shawarma, the way it is being cooked, directly in the flame. U see, as what I think and experienced, gas cylinders used here smells like S**t. I mean, literally. The smell of qatar's gas cylinders contents smells like, u know wat.

Im sorry for the inconvenient truth here dudes. I myself eats shawarma from time to time since I'm always on the go/rush. I often needs a quick fix for hunger. But the thing is, as this health concern came to my mind, does the shawarma here in Doha cooked properly? Just needs a good output from you guys since as of now I am even NOT thinking of giving up eating shawarma. yum yum w/ Pepsi.;P

I have to be honest with you. I have never bought or eaten shawarma ever since qatari posted that cannibalism news and in the end asked "what was inside the sharwarma last night?" or something to that effect. Can't get the picture out of my mind everytime I see a sharwarma station. Blame it on qatari! :)

who ever wants to find the real shawarma, I advise to search for a chief from Alippo(Syria). every chief from Alippo make it on his way, but nobody can say it is not the best. every one is the best. and for evrey bodies info the best restaurents in the middle east have chiefs from Alippo, In Syria, Lebanon and Gulf countries.

but if u go Alippo u will descover so many different food and u will forget Shawarma.

Best regards.

Guys I hate to put a dampener on your appetite for shawarma which is no doubt delicious when made properly.

Unfortunately all the shawarma I've tasted here doesn't measure up. The secret's in the meat. They use rubbish meat here, cheap.

When you go to places like Syria, Lebanon and Jordan and eat shawarma or even grills at the right place you're getting quality stuff.

Unfortunately the restaurants here are in it for the buck and they'll use the cheapest meat available.

novita77, if you were in amman, and you like to eat a very very nice shawirma, then ask about :

'aldae3a' , if you want to eat a big meal with your friends it is the beast, it has more than 4 branches over amman

and 'Reem' if you want to have a very delecious and traditional shawirma sandwish mmm

butterfly, why dont courrage your neighbour to open a resturant, i will be the first customer for sure
