Nice-to-know info
QATARI FLAG
-maroon with a broad white serrated band (nine white points) on the hoist side; maroon represents the blood shed in Qatari wars, white stands for peace; the nine-pointed serrated edge signifies Qatar as the ninth member of the "reconciled emirates" in the wake of the Qatari-British treaty of 1916
And i thought the serrated edge was a one-sided zipper.. :-(
no offense meant *peace*
What to do, yanni?
LP, I read it that way too
Some people say the nine edges represent the nine baladiyas Qatar has (had). Now it's ten.
I will be staying in this country for the next couple of years inshalla.. so the least i could do is get to know the place i live, right?
Have a great weekend Soniya! :D
TFS...
