How long does it take for a Qatari to get accepted by the law to marry a non-Gulf nationale?

They do the testing Xena, but it doesn't mean anything, they still allow the couple to marry even if the tests show they'll have 3 eyed legless tadpoles.

Nope... I pretty much figure... if they got married, they could have babies;-p... don't forget the Govt also do Gen Tests now to establish if any problems will arise from kids of the union;-p

I can't believe that in 2011, a man or a woman can't decide for their future and still waiting a permission from the Gov. for that. Do they need written approval as well for making babies??

True.  The ones I know are wealthy, well-educated, fairly westernized (so no probs with the families).  Too bad for the OP.  :(

Qatari's married to a foreigner - but its usually the ones with some money, that were able to buy their way through the system. Its not an easy one - ask them, they will tell you:-)

Qatari women - good luck to the foreigner who tries his luck - go straigh to jail. Do not collect QR200 - best find a get out of jail free card, cause it might be a long time in there;-)

I know Qatari men who are married to Americans, Canadians, Brits, and Germans.  All first and/or only wives.  I don't know any Qatari women married to foreigners save two--married to Yemeni and a Syrian.  I assume it's more difficult for women nationals?

Young lady - he has given this as an excuse?

Please don't believe everything you are told - in 90% of the cases this is the line used to keep the girl stringing along....

If you haven't met his family yet, then don't bother - finish it cause I am sorry to say he is just using you:-(

Sorry for disturbing,

     I thought money is everything

Better to find your own country person who loves you always, to whom we will love always

But then he would have the money to buy the License to marry a foreigner, wouldn't he?

I didn't say all were like that - but majority definately.

That doesn't matter Bibo.... Most Qatari's marry family members, members of their tribe or "social climb" other families - arranged marriages are what happens here - love marriage doesn't mean anything in most cases.

True, Madam. Let's hope he has lots of money.

I don't think it applies to every Qatari. I know of one who has his own millions, and doesn't give a shyte of what his family thinks or what incentives the government offers!

marriage to a local can take up to 2/3 years - along with this process goes tonnes of paperwork and permissions - and then a desk drawer that seems to have a black hole.

Qatari's in Government services have nice incentives to marry local girls - they get all sorts of benefits - marry a foreigner they get none - so there's pressure on the Qatari not to marry anyone else.

Qatari's marrying outside of Qatar pick up major problems when coming back to the country - problems as large as being jailed if the family are that unhappy.

There is no easy way to marrying a Qatari - have a search on QL to find threads by other posters on this matter.
