Can A Non-Muslim Visit A Mosque?
By qatarvisitor1111 •
Hello and with peace to all,
Another quick question from a soon-to-be-visitor...
I love and have deep respect for culture different than my own, which involves all aspects, including religion. Is it acceptable for me (a non-Muslim) to visit a Mosque? I, of course, would show the utmost respect and reverance. I am very curious though and would enjoy a brief visit.
And of course, I understand fully if that's not acceptable as well.
Thanks for any information you are willing to share with me! I apprecaite your time and effort.
With peace,
Leah
WHY NOT.VISIT A MOSQUE TO HAVE A NICE TIME
Once upon a time when Mohammed peace be upon him was discussing with the christian people and they wanted to pray and he allowed them to pray in his mosque in Madeena the way they wanted as a courtesy and human respect. Therefore, there will be no problem for any non-believer to visit the mosque with cleanliness and honour. Therefore, visit of non-muslim brother or sister will be always welcome and may allah guide you to islam and the real faith that leads to permanent paradise that everyone one is dreaming to achieve after death and islam is always giving highest priorities for that noble target prior to all their priorities in the form of faith and worship to the Almighty alone who created us and fed us and to whom we return in the end with the result what we have earned from the lifetime in here.
Thank you all for your kind responses. I appreciate your candor!
With respect and gratitude!
Yes a non muslim can visit a mosque, just like a non Chritian can visit a Church..
yes sure you can visit a mosque
yes sure you can visit a mosque
Sorry, Yogesh, if My story confused you and someone else also.
The story of my husband travelled in a taxi, when he was in Dubai. I was not there in the taxi. The driver wanted to stop in between the trip to offer his prayers. Sorry, if the story looked like we travelled from Doha to Dubai
Go to the Fanar Centre next to Souq Waqif. The mosque caters for non-muslims and there are people there to answer any questions you may have. There is also a small exhibit regarding Islam.
yes u can just take a scarf to cover your hair that s all
A friend of mine who is non muslim used to go to the mosque and pray with muslims there. I think it's totally fine.
AS I KNOW THE MOSQUE WAS A HOLY PLACE/PRAYER. TO OBSERVE OR IF U WISH TO COME INSIDE THE MOSQUE U CAN ASK FIRST SOMEONE WHO CAN COME WITH U.ATLEAST NOT DURING PRYER TIME BECAUSE WE (MUSLIM'S)WHEN WE COME INSIDE THE MOSQUE WE PRAY 2 RAK'AT TO RESPECT THE MOSQUE BEFORE WE PRAY FOR THE OBLIGATORY/ETC...
yes, u can - i think
my husband was travelling from Khorfakkan to Dubai by taxi. And the Paki driver wanted to do his namaz. He invited my husband alos inside the mosque and he also stood in the line for namaz. He was doing exactly what the Paki driver was doing, but after sometime the driver told him in his ears "now ,dont wait, you go fast".. it seems the movement my husband did was not as per the rituals.
if yoiu dont invite attention from others , you can go
but on second thoughts - why you should go there ? If a small minority of the people did nto like your presence, they may create problems. ( Even if the educated , moderate peoples supports you )
As far as I am concerned of course Yes you can enter, only that you should remove your shoes while entering and you should be clean. Also don't make any issues there and invite attention.
