Dear All,

one day i was driving at a road where the speed limit was 80. i was within the limit. one qatri was comming behind me. suddenly a crew of 10 people was running to cross the road so i just applied brakes for just 15 secs. the bastered behind me started shouting at me and told me to come to the police station. once we reached the police station there were five police men sitting and i wan taken aback to see that none of them can communicate in english. any how that idiot tell them some long story which i can not get any word of it. now can any body help me out what i supposed to do at that time as that qatri was at fault but he may have painted the wrong story to police and they charged me though there were not my fault.

please advise.

first you had to CALL police, not to go with him anywhere.. and you had to require an english-speaking policeman. It happened to me once. The guy hit the side of my car...first policman didn't speak english, i requested another one, and they sent another one. By that time my friend, who speaks arabic (at that time he was my friend) came to help me, and he heard that this b***rd has changed the situation other way around...so at least i had my chance to highlight the real situation in english... next day I came to the traffic dpmt to pick up the Report, and Report was stating that it was that qatari guy's fault, and not mine...

but if he hit you from behind, don't even worry, it MUST be his fault...

If you had an accident and hit hit you from behind, that would be his fault. No question about it. Go and explain your self to the captain!

asif1142 ...did you have an accident at all?

I guess you did otherwise you wouldnt have gone to the station.

I guess you should have tried to speak to the senior officer who usually speak english.

Simply go and talk to the Captain. They all speek English. One time an Arabic speeking Guy tried to do the same trick on me and the Office told him off :)

The same thing happend with me when i was in dubai. u have to speak to the senior officer. and also tell them that b'coz of language u couldn't understand what he has framed. the senior officer they understand and they know local people how they drive and behave when they drive.but pls be polite. i know some time the blood boils from inside. they will listen to u. all the best.
