Hello everyone
Salamz
I received a link from a friend for a site which has been set up for the sole purpose of criticising Qatar and Qataris. I found it very rude and insulting towards Qataris. I understand that different people have different experiences, but this particular site was so anti Qatari. I would like to ask if anyone thinks any of what is said is true, at all? Have any of you guys seen the likes of that which is described on this website. It would be good to get people's views. Google qatar and sucks. I hope that no one here is offended by my message. frankly I was shocked and would just like some input.
many thanks

ps please excuse me, i wasnt sure quite where to post this

If it is true (and from what I know/see) most of it is, then no one should be offended. However, the things pointed out on the website does not only pertain to Qatar but also to the rest of the Middle Eastern Countries.

It is very sad that these things happen (especially in a Muslim Country). All these Countries forget that 20-30 years ago they were on camel backs & God fulfilled their wishes & prayers by giving them so much only to test them how they will use that wealth, well we all know how the maids are treated & what they are paid. I cant understand how can people go to Mecca 5-6 times in a years and still not see themselves as modern slave owners.

it you can see it. And it is truthful -- although one-sided with some pretty childish comments.

Yet another disgruntled douchebag. Maybe he made a facebook group about his grievance too. His MS Paint belittling of the flag was not even mildly amusing. It is of course, obviously yet another concerned westerner. Buddy if you're so concerned about these mistreated expat nationalities, why don't you employ 'em in your fabulous liberal homeland where everything is peachy, money grows on trees, and there's never any discrimination. This is turd, it doesn't even warrant a passing consideration.

and that's been pointed out before. It's just that some people don't take criticism well.

be Qatarsucks.com??

if so, then there is a Canadasucks.com, and I think that there is an Americasucks.com as well...

because it only shows the bad and none of the good. If you actually saw the site you saw that those articles are all from the newspaper -- most of it local papers. No one denies their validity, so you can't really say it's not true.

It is one-sided though.

How did you look at the site when it's been banned by QTel?

And if you think it's so offensive and terrible, why are you promoting its existence on Qatar Living?

If you didn't want people to look at it why are you talking about it?

Seems to me that your sole point for creating this post was to inform people about the existence of such a site and to encourage people to view its content.

Troll.

even if one were to be set up against you personally...

How else would you know the worst that someone thinks of you?? How else could you, by reading all these things, could you find out, after much self-thought, the items that you must address in your own character...these types of websites are wonderful things because they do not filter your own perspective of what we think others think of us.Their perspectives, if in large numbers, are a better judge of who we are, than what we portray to ourselves, of what we actually are.....for instance, beating a man in the desert with a board full of nails...

This is why, in the western world, there are very few restrictions in the press,,,and ove rthe long term this has created the most dynamic societies ever in the world.
