Qatar’s largest open-air amusement park — the Entertainment World Village — spread over an area of more than one square kilometre, was opened to the public in Doha yesterday.
The amusement park, located at Al Qutaifiya beach between Diplomatic Club and The Pearl-Qatar, will remain open until May 12, reported Qatar Tribune.
The park was formally inaugurated by The Entertainment World Village for Carnivals Company Chairman HE Sheikh Suhaim bin Khaled bin Hamad Al Thani.
“This is our first foray into the outdoor entertainment industry on this scale. We’re planning for long term alternative entertainment activities throughout the year as well as supporting Qatar’s position as a tourist destination,” he said.
The Entertainment World Village features over 30 varieties of rides for all age groups, with the most popular being Reverse Bungee, Roller Coaster, G-Force Bomber and a giant Ferris Wheel.
It also boasts of several international award-winning stage shows and performances, skill games, and various recreational activities such as bouncy castles, paintball and doughnut boats.
The park will remain open between 4 pm and 11 pm from Saturday to Wednesday and between 4 pm and 1 am on Thursdays and Fridays.
Visitors can also choose from a wide selection of delectable cuisines available at over 30 kiosks spread across the venue.
A giant parking facility that can accommodate about 2,000 cars has been opened in order to make things easier for visiting patrons.
While the entrance fee to the park is QR15 per head, the prices of rides range between QR10 and QR75.
