Immunisation drive sees almost 28,000 children being vaccinated
A new initiative by the Ministry of Public Health, to immunise children against dreaded diseases like Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), have generated a lot of interest.
The campaign, which was launched on October 17, has seen 27, 776 children being vaccinated in the first four days.
Gulf Times reported that 13,253 of these children were vaccinated at private schools, 8,672 at independent schools and government kindergartens, 4,641 at vaccination clinics at primary health care centres and 1,200 children at semi-government and private hospitals/health centres.
Parents who have queries about the vaccination drive can contact the MoPH’s hotlines — 66740948 (Arabic) and 66740951 (English) — or write to [email protected].
Many thousands more children are expected to be vaccinated by the time the campaign ends on November 14.
This is great news! People don't realise how contagious Chicken Pox really is.
Great news for the long term health of the children ..
Are the vaccinations free ?
