It takes about 3 weeks. My application was submitted by HR on 24th Jan 2013, was issued by Ministry of Labor on 11 Feb 2013, HR of the company sent me scanned copy on 14 Feb 2013.

HR was very keen that I submit all docs attested by my country's Foreign Office and local Qatar Embassy. This took me a while to get though.

All will be well.

I called HR back this morning, they told me that my documents have been submitted (on Tuesday 19/03/2013) to the Ministery of Labour for approval. Once approved, they will apply for business visa...

How long does it usually take for labour approval?

@Zaheer: I now understand better..

@Watdapaks: I read that it could depend strongly on nationality, that's why I wanted to clarify.

Thanks Tarun!

My apologies for the mistake but the more appropiate word should be "business" visa (not work visa) as it will be an entry visa to Qatar.

Does it take the same time?

Hope we'll get it shortly :)
