if they will agree to accept help since they cannot do it by themselves, and if they are willing to compensate to efforts...

Is there anyway you can hook me up with those (right people):)

I have no income now, ramadan is coming, maybe they can help... lol

then you have to get used to the way of getting things done in here...they say: nothing is for sure unless you can touch it... So it was actually a kind of mistake to quit your job...

.. i entered qatar under visitor's visa, because my work visa was not ready yet as well, but i had my ticket already, which the company had booked for me. Then I got my work visa, and then, very fast, i got my RP as i got knowing "right people" by that time..lol...

Thanks guys...

I was told that I can't enter on a visitor's visa as its not allowed by the immigration. I am to waite for a visa by email then apply for the RP later while I am there. Its just been a while and everytime I call they tell me that the visa is not ready. I wish that I didn't resign from my job as I was asked to do by my new Qatar employer.

Cheers,

For me on the spot contract signed during the interview. Visa within 1 week. Flew to Doha within 4 days. RP issued in 1 week.

No that was not meant for you and what you said is right. That comment wa not menat for you;

The RP can and may take a month depends on the sponsor. However, since I came here the formalities and red tape has increased.

.. All i said, is first they get work visa, and then - RP. That's all. To get your RP takes about 1 month. did you ever hear of anybody comes to Doha and wait for his/her RP for whole month, and not working during this time, since it's "illegal"? You CAN work here on your work visa, while waiting for your RP.

I your don't have the residence permit you can't work here otherwise it illegal.

For your information all the school and university certificates, clearance certificate from the embassy, fingerprints, and the confirmation of the job have to be cleared by the CID it is eventually the same thing and he can do none of this if he is in the USA right or not???? This is what we call nit picking

first a working visa is issued, and later RP (resedence permit) is obtained. But as I said, he can enter qatar on visitor visa, start working and to wait first for his working visa, and then for his RP.

There is no such thing as work permit here. Resident Permit is issued under the catogory of work visa.

There are many threads on QL about visas, however, you don't need a work visa to enter Qatar you need a work permit to be able to work in Qatar.

You need a resedence permit to to get work permit - I think you need to check back exactly what is happening as you will need to go through a chain of formalities with the police before you will be accepted and get the work permit, and you definately can't do that if you are still in the US (fingerprints etc).

as USA citizen, you can enter qatar on visitor's visa, which you can obtain right at the airport upon your arrival. And later your company will issue the working visa for you. But make sure first that your employeer is agreed.

Hard to say exactly... Depends how much "wasta" (influence) your company has. Consider this training for life in Qatar-- things move much slower than we are used to in the US...
