Work Permit while in Qatar
Hi all,
I am a Canadian national, and got a job offer in Doha, I have accepted the offer and waiting for my Visa for almost a month, after following up with the company, first they were telling me that as soon as visa is ready they will inform me, now they are saying that you can come on visit visa which will be issued at the airport directly and then we will process your work permit while you are here in Doha, on visit visa, and they are not processing my work visa, I have a wife and one kid, the company agreed to bring both of them alongwith me and get a visa at the airport, they will process their family visa too while they are in Doha they may just need to go to Bahrain and re-enter on family visa.
Anyone please advice what should I do shall come to Doha on company's provided air ticket and get everything processed in Doha or otherwise

I believe that you can send your documents by Fedex (overnight) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ottawa and enclose a return Fedex envelope for them to get it back to you. That's how I sent my documents to Washington, DC. E-mail or call your HR in Qatar and ask if the police clearance is still valid. I should think it would be. If you don't have your police clearance you can only be given a one year RP. Do you have visa/passport expediters in Canada? You may want to make use of them to walk your document through the Ministry.

Hi all,
My company has finally asked for a Criminal record check document
1. I have this document issued in March 2008, is this possible to use this same document (issuing a new one will take three months here in Canada)
2. The company is also asking to stamp the document from Ministry of Foreign affiars here in Canada, is this a must requirment or not. I am in Toronto and foreign affair office is in Ottawa, I have to travel in person to get is endorsed for authenticity.
Please advise what shall I do. I am still in Canada.
Yes, you can come in on a visit visa and have them transfered to your residency permits while you are settling in.

yes,you can come with your family, if your comapany will process the work visa BEFORE the visit visa is expired.
we did the same. we got visit visa at doha airport , and with in 2 weeks the family visas for me and my baby were issued. btw. we didt even have to go any where like bahrain or where so ever.
this is only my personal experience.
