Hi All,

I've recently been trying to find out the exact process for getting a visa from the UK to Doha for work purposes. The company that is sponsoring me (QNB) are describing one process and the embassy in London and are describing a different process.

Has anyone  moved from the UK to Doha recently ? Can you recall what you needed to ask the London embassy for ?  Im having a little difficulty in understanding the chap in the visa dungeon ;-)

 Thanks in Advance.

Thanks for the info Richard.

I've done everything upto and including the Fedex to Doha. However that was over a month ago and I am still waiting to hear. I guess I'll just continue to wait ...

This is the process that I went through:

My company offered me the job, I accepted. They then asked for scanned copies of my passport to be sent to them by email. I then had to go to a police station in the UK to fill out a form for a police check. Paid 20 pounds and sent the form off. 28 days later, the UK police clearance certificate was issued. I then had to take the police clearance certificate to the Foreign Office at Admiralty Gate to get it sealed and legalised. I then took it to the Qatari Embassy who put their own seal on it. I then sent it to my company in Doha by Fedex.

About one week later, I received an emailed copy of my work permit which was electronically linked to my passport. I then arrived in Doha and started the permanent residency process which took a further 5 weeks to complete.

Hope that helps
