We are new to Qatar. My wife is Pregnant and she wishes to travel to India. When we have valid RP, I am aware that we must enter within 180 days of travel. She has her RP valid until march '10. Is there any option to stay more than 180 days in her case?
if yes, kindly let us know the formalities.

Same for me, My wife is also pregnant now and she wish to travel India for her delivery. Her QID is valid until 2026. If by any chance she exceeded more then 180 days, then what is the new process she can enter again with same QID in Qatar after 180 days???

6 months is the maximum time you are allowed to stay outside qatar after that you have to pay QR 500 for another 6 months extension. You have to do that before the 6 months expires.

If you stay outside for more than 180 days, you'll need to pay Qr 500 and you'll be issued an entry permit that will be valid for 15 days from the day you pay the Qr 500.

In most cases they usually require the reason for overstaying with proof. I'm under my father's sponsorship and have always required (as recent as last month) a study certificate to show I was studying outside Qatar and that was the reason for overstaying.

If she wants to stay more than 180 days, it is to be renewed which can be done at the airport immigration office by paying 500 QR. she can stay for further 6 month or till the expiry of RP whichever is first.

Required documents for renewal:

1. Her passport copy with RP

2. Filled application form which will be available in all typing centers. In application the reason for overstay is to be specified-maternity. (no need of medical certficate)

3. Passport copy of sponsor.

You will get it done immedietely from the counter itself.
