VISIT VISA OR BUSINESS VISA?

hi to all readers,

I am kabayan and Im planning to go to Qatar to visit my brother as well as to look for a job opportunities. I am a female civil engineer and previously working in Dubai UAE from 2007-2009. I am in the Philippines right now.It is a sad point that that my brother who is working in Qatar cannot sponsor me as family member due to his salary is not up to salary bracket requirement. There are people who said that business visa is the best one because its quite longer to look for a job because it is valid for 3 months unlike visit visa which only 1 month. I know a lot stories of people trying their luck in Dubai, some became lucky but others failed. I think the stories are not different in Qatar but still I am strongly willing to try mine there. I'm looking around for someone who knows which is the best one for me, business visa or visit visa. What is the requirement? My school credentials (TOR,Diploma, others) are already in red ribbon when I came to Dubai before, do I need a new one or I can still used the old but the original one. I just dont have a clear idea thats why I resort to post a query here.

Thank you very much and looking forward for your honest response.

WHAT "HOW MUCH", Geethika?? Business visas are not subject for sale! they are not sold on the market! they are issued by the Qatari authorities to certain category of employees! If you are within this category, your company has to secure a business visa for you, you don't have to ask here "how much"!

Mod! I want to see you in action HERE!!

Be aware of buying visa's here in qatar. Mostly kabayan in qatar promised to help you in securing the visa you needed at the end she/he will only runaway your money..Very bad i am almost one of the victim when i was there last year.

for my sister...for an XXX amount of money which is ridiculously high. A SHARK for a friend...uuughh !!!

He doesn't know that I already know how much it really cost.

Then one day, he came to me asking if I could help his woman friend look for a job. That woman is 50 years old and our sister companies have this age limit policy for certain position. (Even I, myself got rejected from positions I applied for because of MY AGE. Good thing, my current employer is/was more interested in my work experience and knowledge of the work scope than my AGE.)

When I got to speak with the woman...she told me how much she paid for the business visa AND PLANE TICKETS... >QAR5,000.00 with a promise of a sure job when she arrives QATAR.

It's her 2nd month here in Qatar and still no job...and she's been calling me every now and then asking for help to land her a job...which I tried and failed because of her age.

BOTTOMLINE: For those who come to QATAR on business/tourist visa...unless you got friends or families here to support you while you look for a job, don't.

But, at the end of the day...it's your decision.

Is getting to be tiresome, don't you think?

I agree with QATARISUN...it is illegal but who would stop at this thought? For the desire of a better life, people will gamble everything to get it...

Besides the fact that reading a post typed in capital letters is really difficult and annoying, its not good computer etiquette... meaning its rude and its considered like you are shouting at whoever is reading it - do a google search on Computer Etiquette and you will see what I am talking about.

Agree with Qatarisun - don't do anything illegal - just get a tourist visa and start looking for a job here as soon as you get into Doha:-)

selling business and working visas is a crime. we don't need criminals here. Look for the job from your country and come here in a legal way, to avoid troubles.

Besides, even if you "bought" a work visa, then what? where you are going to work? be aware that you cannot transfer your sponsorship until you complete at least 1 year with the same sponsor. All your movements will be illegal. You will be severly punished once you got caught.
