RP and NOC queries

My husband's RP is expiring on July 13 next month and is between moving jobs but the process is taking too long.
If his old sponsor now gives NOC, can he stay in doha with his RP expired or does he have to have a job before his RP expires?

Your husband should get his RP renewed under his current sponsor at least for another one year period. Then he can leave his job with NOC so that he can change his sponsorship later on upon finding a new job. He can not change his sponsorship without having a valid RP in his passport.
