Resident Visa

Hi All

I will hopefully be relocating to Qatar from Dubai shortly and wanted some advice on the resident visa application.

My wife and I are currently expecting our 3rd child at the end of December and my wife along with our 2 children will be flying back to the UK for the birth. I will be moving directly to Qatar in mid November. I will then fly to UK for the birth and was planning that all of us fly back to Qatar in early January. So my queries are as follows:

1: will I have time between mid November and mid December to finalise my own resident visa?

2: Can my family return with me in early January gain entry as tourists (not sure length of this visa) and then I apply to sponsor them once they are in Qatar?

3: The baby will only be a few weeks old when we return, can the baby gain entry if the parent do not have residency, again on tourist visa? I have heard under 3 months requires both parents to have residency before entry?

My wife has French passport and myself and the children have British.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you

Regards

Yes, bank statment is must, but you can bring them here in visit visa and can be extended upto 6 months, after that you can apply for family residence visa...

only thing is you need to extend the visa by paying 200 QAR per head....

First you need to have all documents required to process the residence permit. You might need police clearance which might take time to obtain in UK or Dubai. The best is to find out from the immigration section of the company you will be working for about the documents you require. If you have all the documents, then as soon as you arrive, insist to go for medical immediately unless you are working for an Oil and gas company which does its own medical for its owm staff. Then you will be able to process your residence permit.

The most important document for your child when she is born is birth certificate and passport. Then you can apply for a family Visa for them either on your own or through your company. However, you have to be in Doha to apply for any type of Visa for your family. Alternatively, check if the passports they hold at the time they want to travel with you allows them to get Visa on arrival, then then can come with you without a Visa and will get the Visa on arrival as tourists and then you can convert it to family Visa then the family visa will be converted to residence permit.

Thanks for the inpit Arun.

If i require 6 months bank statements before i can apply for family visa, that means i must live and work in Qatar for 6 months before i can apply? If i have my salary certificate from company is that not enough?

You can complete your residence visa processing within one month,if you already got a job in Qatar.

You can apply for your family members visit visa, after you got the residence permit.

To get residence visa for your family, you will have to show 6 months bank statement of salary transfer i.e,QR : 10,000 or above monthly.

your family also can get visa on arrival.Check the category of nationalities eligible for the same.

Probably your child will not require a visa, coz' under 3 months ,check it further.
