Hi Guys, I've been in Doha since 17th Sept, I am from London, how long does it take to get a resident permit, I work for an investment bank and HR are pretty slow in processing any request! apologies if the same question has been answered, but I've tried searching but I got some old answers dated 2006, thanks

with business or visit visa OR 3 months whicever come first.

The temporary license is valid for as long as your visa (tourist/business visa). If you have extended your visa (now max. 2 months earlier 3 months) your get your temp. license according to that.

adnan, you are a little misinformed, the temporary license is valid for 3 months, not 1 month.

a month is very quick ... when we arrived in Doha 8 yrs ago it tooks 3 mths and everybody at hubby's office said it was quick !!!

So you guys newbie in Doha are practically lucky, the government office in Qatar now alot more improve and efficient. :)

Yes he can but only valid for a month only, not after that.

If, and it is big if, your company has applied for and been granted permission for a Brit RP then it should take about 3-4 weeks.

I received my RP four weeks to the day after the paperwork was filed.

You will get it in atleast a month. Before that you cannot have your license and car or anything.

I can only share my experience. My company sent me for medicals one week after I started. And I went for fingerprinting 10 days after that. About 10 days after the fingerprinting, I got the RP.

You're a bit unlucky because all government departments are closed until the 6th of October, if I'm not mistaken.
