Renewing family visa ?

I will be leaving Qatar (for baby delivery) in November this year and will be coming back after 10 months. During this period my family visa will be expiring (expiring on February 2014) and just wanted to know,

01) Do I need come back to Qatar to renew the visa before expire?

02) Can my husband (sponsor) renew it without my presence?

Please help. Thank you all....

01) can I renew my RP by now (in this month) for another one year? I have heard that RP can only renew before three months for the expiry date.

If you are outside qatar for 6 months, your rp will automatically cancelled even if the validity is more than 6 months. You should not be outside qatar for more than 6 months. Your husband cannot renew it if you are not here.
