I am awaiting my Work visa past 4 months. It totally depends on the Indian Nationality Quota Availability for your company from the Labor Department. If your company has a pre approved Indian Nationality Quota, your visa will be processed within 4 to 6 weeks time, else the company has to apply for Indian nationality quota to the immigration/Labor department which may take ages to get approved or in some cases NO. As per the present scenario its very difficult to get an Indian, Lebanese, Egyptian, Pakistani...Quotas approved as the expatriates from these countries has crossed the slab.

I suggest that you don't resign from your current employer until you get the confirmation and also note that if your visa isnt processed by March second week, then try for an alternative option of searching a new job.

Wish you good luck

My employer told me, it can take 4~8 weeks to obtain work visa, with average of 6 weeks. So be patient and you have right to worry after 8th week.
