in your case, the visa was about to expire in Aug 12, but the authorities allowed you to renew it in May ,right ?

the earlier case-- the wife already left Qatar ( for example Feb 12 ) , but still holding the visa. As per the rules, she had to return wtihin 6 months ( Aug 12 ) and she cannot come back. Here there is way, by paying QR 500, the authorities give a waiver to the rule of Aug 12 - instead of 6 months , they give 12 months. Means, she can return only within Feb 13.

BUT KEEP IN MIND -- HER ACTUAL VISA DOES NOT GET EXPIRE DURING THIS 12 MONTHS. IF NOT, NO WORRIES

Dear glaizy,

My case was somewhat similar. My wife was travelling in May for 4 months due to the same reason, and her visa was expiring in Aug 2012.

The Visa renewal procedure is that you can only apply to renew a visa in the last three months of Expiry.

Where as in my case it was 5 months. I went to the immigration office, building no 2 i guess and met the people there, I took an application typed in Arabic, as i know that is the easiest way to communicate with them if you dont know arabic.

Any way i went to the captain sitting there and got it renewed. All thanks to Allah. He makes things easy for us.

there is a procedure for extending the exit period from six month to 1 year. for this you have to pay qr.500 at emigration.

go to emigration-gharrafa and get the procedures.

also don't forget to post here the procedures which you got from emigration
