I would like to get some tips on the following:

My friend is on a personal visa (Shakzi), but works as a Manager with a trading co. with the permission of his sponsor. He got a job offer from one of the Oil Co. here in Doha as a Manager. His current sponsor is ready to give him an NOC. He just want to cancell his shakzi visa and come back on the new offer with the NOC. My question is......

1. Will there be any problem for him to re-enter with the new visa even if he has an NOC.

2. will his previous shakzi status make any problem for him to get the new visa stamped?

Pls advise.....

There's a lot that needs to be answered before anyone could answer your question with authority.  His new employer would be best to tackle any issues before he gives up his current job and visa. They would know best.

I can think of one possible hurdle... it all depends on nationality. I've heard that there are quotas or restrictions on visas granted to nationals of certain countries. A while back, I think many Jordanians were having trouble getting the visa approved --- because of political issues between Qatar and Jordan.

Again, I think it's best for your friend to check with his new employer. If it's a major oil company, they should have a professional Immigration/HR staff.
