Need advise, please
A year ago my visa was cancelled in Qatar. It was under the sponsorship of my present company who has a branch in Qatar before. When I was in the process of renewing my Qatar visa, they had asked me to choose which one is to be cancelled as I am having a UAE visa stamped in my passport too. My company chose to ratain my UAE visa.
I have received recently a better offer by a reputed company in Qatar. Do I need a NOC to be able to get a new residence visa from my would be employer in Qatar?
My present company has closed the branch at Doha so far.
If i understood it correctly, your VISA was cancelled by the company. Technically, you don't work for them and you don't need a NOC for that case, since it's more than a year already. but for the new law that was just passed recently, any individual who's visa was cancelled and wishes to come back to Qatar MUST get a NOC from the previous sponsor, otherwise you will be denied of any application for Visit Visa. I don't think your previous employer will exert the effort of giving you NOC, knowing that you won't be working for them the moment you arrive.
You need an NOC from your previous Sponsor. As per your post you are still working for the same Company in UAE. Do you think that they will provide you an NOC to leave the job in UAE with them and take a new job in Qatar? If your previous Sponsor was an individual then you should know who is he and you can arrange with someone to go to his Office and request for the NOC. If you were sponsored by your Present Company then you should get it done through them.
If at any point in time, you had a Qatar RP stamped on your passport, you need a NOC...
