My Visa application got Rejected should I be worried?

Hi all,

I received a formal employment contract from a renowned company in Qatar and they asked me for 3 documents for Visa application, Photograph Scan copy, Passport Scan copy and Engineering Degree Colour Scan Copy.

It has been 2 weeks now and when I called the HR of the company he said my visa was rejected due to some unknown reasons and that they've applied for a new one and I'll be receiving the visa within a day or two.

The joining date is written as 1st May 2015 in the contract.

Should I be worried about the rejection of the visa? I already have left my previous company in India as a Planning Engineer.

Were your certificate attested from Qatari embassy in India? I dont think you r blacklisted or something. I think moi is rejecting because all papers have not been submitted in proper fashion. Sit tight and there is nothing you can do about it since hr is tracking. Don't worry about joining date, that's internal company issue. They can always extend the joining date. Resigning without visa was not the smartest choice, but be positive and feel positive, things will settle down since you've never been to gcc before there should be no reason for moi to reject except if the documents r not being submitted properly. Send me pvt benefit henceforth Cuz its not professional to discuss about a company that you will b joining soon on public forum.

I think I was unable to communicate rightly.. When I had a word with him 3-4 days back, he said that my visa was rejected due to some unknown reasons. But he asked me if I had ever applied for a visa or had been to the country. I said no. Then he asked me to send a scan copy of all pages of my passport (33 pages I guess) . I sent the scan to them and had a word with the HR today and he said that Friday and Saturday were holidays and they're trying their level best for the visa. I also reminded them that my joining date is 1st May. He then said that he'll let me know as soon as the visa arrives.

Send the snapshot tu ur hr. R u talking with VG? Initials of his name. Tell him there is no visa in ur name. Ask him politely about the issue.

"Possibly"???? that's not how system here works. HR's should know why the visa was rejected. They are not individuals, they are a company that's trying to get a work visa for u..

Anyways, type in ur pp number on MOI website and check if u have a valid visa in ur name..http://www.moi.gov.qa/VsaWeb/Actions?action=geteServiceVisaInfoInput&language=english

Check it and if u dont find anything in ur name then talk with HR about it..

Hi everyone ,

So I spoke to the HR guy today and he told me that my visa was rejected possibly because there was a visa in my name which was not collected before. How is this possible when I am a new comer and I've not even applied for any visa as on date? I'm really worried guys please help me

I'd like to appreciate the help that you guys are providing to new comers here, it's really helpful guys. I didn't know a single thing about Qatar before joining QL. Shooting some more questions

1. I'm still worried about the Visa rejection, will the company be able to get it before my joining date? If not, should they send me a new EC with changed joining date? (joining date is 1st May)

2. Is there any other option for food? Like hiring maids or something? I really am not into cooking :(

i think they will provide shared accommodation like many Indian Management companies here in Qatar. yes cooking will be on u.. U will have villa mates and shared kitchen so cooking will be a join operation for u.. how many in one bedroom...should not be more than 2.

That sounds darn hot.. It's not more than 40 here in my native.. Anyways, will keep in mind your suggestion.. Considering you know about CGC, do you have any idea about the accommodation they provide and it is written in my contract that accommodation is provided by company, does that mean that I'll be responsible for the food? P. S : I only know how to cook noodles :(

@Morane - Thanks a ton.. I had a word with the HR and he said that he has taken into account the attestation etc. And once the visa has arrived, he'll send me a mail telling me what to do after the visa has arrived.

@ar. get ur documents attested from Qatar embassy in india. otherwise u will need them later to be attested and u will end up spending 400 QAR for each document to be attested sent back and forth Qatar to India.

theres still a week left and CGC are good company so they will be able to get it done. Dont worry. be in touch with ur HR.

@Britexpat Thanks.. Got useful information from QL.. :) Still waiting for the visa.. Tomorrow's a Friday so I guess there won't be any progress. I wonder if the joining date is 1st may, how will the company be able to get a visa for me?

It is always best to get all the documents attested in your home country before coming.. It saves all the hassle later

Thanks @Molten Metal. Any suggestions about relocating to Qatar. I'm still worried about the Visa. Is it true that if you've got the offer letter, your Visa should surely arrive.?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the welcome and comments. A bit relieved after your comments and keeping my fingers crossed. I had a word with the employer and he said that the visa may arrive in 2-3 days. Also, they have asked for scan copy of all the pages of my passport. Is this also normal?

Being a first timer, I asked the HR if I will have to get my documents like degree as I had read about it in the forum, he said he'll let me know once the visa arrives. Can anyone please clarify the need of getting the documents verified / attested?
