Maid from Philippine

ExpatinQatar
By ExpatinQatar

I have a filipino maid for a long time, when I moved to Qatar recently I sent her back to Philippine to see her family. Now I managed to get her a maid visa to join my family. I wonder if she can come immediately or I need to make her an employment contract through local labor office her, what else is needed to join me !!!! Some people to me that airport authority in Philippine won't let her leave without showing a work contract with the visa...please advise

expatinqatar,

If you want an easy way, let the made come by tourist visa, 800 only for 1 month, as soon as she arrive here, process the transfer under your sponsorship if you have a ready visa... pm me for the agency that have tourist visa. The only thing you need to is the show money and the ticket plus the 800 qr.

I have an experience recently. Since I am from the Philippines, I was requested by an expat friend who happened not a Filipino to help bring in here a sales lady. He produced a working visa and sent to the Philippines. I advised the lady to proceed to POAE named hire section for the formalities. She complied to all the requirements except the original employment contract duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy here. I asked the my friend to prepare a contract. I personally went to POLO for stamping. The POLO officer refused unless a valid agency license be attached together with other requirements. I then advised the lady in the Philippines to look for an agency who can provide a copy of the valid license. Unfortunately, the lady failed to produce the required document. She finally backed out.

Hiring a maid from the Philippines without going through an agency is next to impossible.

honespedal:

we already paied 7000 twice in a year and the maids were a disaster... the first one run away after three months because of her boyfriend, the second was mentally retarded, the third was a prostitute willing ro relocate since the second day in Qatar, the fourth was stealing from the cupboard after one week and the fifth was pregnant...

Now I don't want to pay anymore, I already get visa for indonesian, I have her passport, but an unknown agency is pretending for money. What shall I do,do you think it might be useful to complain at the Indonesian Ambassy?

We hire direct. Ilhamdillah our current maids were great so we ask for their family members and relatives if they want to come to work for us as well. We get their visa's done and its all over. They are from the Philipines and India.

Paying the 7000QR is something I wouldn't accept since I recruited the maid on my own.

If you will hire through agency suggest it is better. You know why agencies will assist everything. POEA will not deploy your housemaid if your salary in the contract is less that USD 400 that is the new Philippine Labour requirement. Please visit POLO office they will give you the list of all agencies. As far as I now the Labour attache will evaluate your financial status also if you can hire directly usually Royal families they allow to hire directly but expats cannot

Try to approach Philippine Labour Office near Hamad and they will let you prepare the contract USD 400 salary. Send the visa to Philippines along with the contract and let the housemaid acknowledge it. You can ask her to go to POEA - Philippine Overseas Employment Administration. If your housemaid has GCC experience training certificate required by POEA is no longer required. If you want to hire through agency QAR 7000 you can visit Monaco Trading near in Al Thani Bldg near VIP roundabout PM me if you still need help

Honestpedal,

when did you hire directly and from which country????

to apply for a maid you must ask for a maid visa at the central immigration department, you fill the form and submit with some other documents (bank statement account x 6 months, husband passport and id, wife ID and pass., letter from husband and wife Company, document of legal marriage)after two days they issue the visa. when you already have the passport copy from a maid you want to hire, to bring it to the immigration and you ask to put her name on that visa. when you ave done that you can send her the ticket and visa copy and it is finished... It is easy, but after I have done all of this an agency here contated me to ask for money !!!!They did not do anything for me , how should I pay 7000 QR!!!is it legal to ask me money???? can i start a legal action against that agency????????????????????? Any lower can help me???

honestpedal....how can you hire directly from philippines?

The Philippines govt made very strict rule so as not to hire directly. This though inconvenient sometimes has some kind of protection against exploitation of the maid.

But then you say one can hire directly? How could you please explain?

i little bit confused, infact it is easy to get visa from immigration and buy a ticket and that's what I have done for an indonesian maid, but ...I have been contacted from a local agency (never known before) claiming for 7000 Qr fee. they told me that if I do not pay to them, she will not come. IS THAT LEGAL???? I have already paid for the agency in Indonesia. Can i stat a legal action against that local agency?????

ExpatinQatar...since you have the Visa...

Pay an Agency in Qatar their fees to "hire the said maid" of course you will have to comply with the POEA rules & sign a letter of attorney etc....(these rules have been made to try to protect the rights of the Philippines workers - so its good such rules are there).

i did have a helper whom 3 months just before her contracts ended her husband passed away she decided to go back as she had kids to attend to. after sometime she changed her mind and i cancelled her earlier to bring another maid so when i tried to do it myself and she knew all procedures there she had even to undergo many tests there which was knew according to her still at the end we were told no way a foreigner can bring a filipina thru direct hiring and this was told by POEA.this so far as i know so ask carefully because agency maid us pay everything but they did very little since we prepared most of the papers

if you have the visa for her as you have posted then advice her to go directly (w/the visa) to POEA (Philippine Overseas Empoyement Agency) she has to pay the following: A)processing fee Php.100 B)OWWA membership Php.1,029 C)PhilHealth Insurance Php.900. Its a bet complicated to do all this requirements but its for the protection of both parties (for your house maid & you as the employer). good luck
