hello i am a lebanese mechanical engineer, i got a job offer to work in qatar for a lebanese company, my employer is handling the visa application. Anyone know how much time it should take to issue the visa? and are they putting restrictions for the lebanese to get a work visa or is everything is fine now? thank you

We hired a Lebanese General manager and we had a bit of a snag...so we used his Australian passport for the visa. Still we encountered a bit of an issue.

I dont know what's going on either...but I wont be recommending to our management in hiring any Lebanese employees for the time being...too much headache...sorry :(

Hi, my husband signed a contract with qatar airways a week ago. They applied for his visa but they told him that they dont guarantee it. We are worried that the government might not accept his working visa because he is lebanese. Some ppl are telling us that qatar airways visas are never rejected... Is that true? What is the chances to reject his visa... Plsss advise, waiting kills :)

if this is true then it must be politically motivated. the hezbollah is helping the assad government and they are from lebanon. qatar is backing up the oppositions this might be their way of support also. just my opinion

My boss tried several times to apply for his parents, wife and 3 kids to come to Qatar for VISIT...but got denied.

The purpose was family visit as my boss' sister is very sick (lung cancer) but still got denied.

My Qatari boss went to plead the case but still got denied.

Last Tuesday, my Lebanese Boss and our PRO went personally...and still its pending.

I dont know what's going on, but its even stricter nowadays....

After having some readings about this topic, i found that mostly every year Qatar Immigration office block visas for several nationality . WHY?! is it a statistical issue ?? or its a political manner ? OR... -God knows!

Really its a shame talking Arab-ism and we are treated less than other nationalities, No OFFENSE! Maybe is our fault

being Arabs :)

we had some applications and all of it are rejected

this is good news ...and once again thanks to all contributors and especially to you azilanna ..

for my case i couldn't know what is going on exactly but simply my work visa will expire after 8 days and its status still under process!!!...why and how ,really no body knows...the PRO said let it expire and then we will apply a new one .....so hopefully in the next trial it will be smooth and takes 1 week rather than 3 months..

Also i hope the best for all people from all nationalities seeking a better life ...

And we are waiting the updates on Wednesday...

my other boss' father applied for a business visa last week, it got approved and he's now here.

Last Sunday, we applied for conversion of male to female and we're waiting for the updates by Wednesday.

The visas for Lebanese back to normal which means they are accepting Visas for Lebanese. Contact your PRO. Got this news from my company yesterday and they applied for my visa, as they said they should get it within this week.

HI, I applied for a family visa for my brother who is 38years since 10 days and his visa is postponed.

Any idea what could be the reason?

is there any block on lebanese.

We just applied for ours and will know the results by Wednesday/Thursday.

Ask your PRO to follow up or re-apply.

i hope, that was a temporal hold ....

but in my case it went back to 3 almost 3 months from now and i have almost 2 weeks before it becomes expired..

i asked our PRO if he can reapply after expiry he said of course its possible ..but i hope it does nt take so much time once again..

I'll have our PRO check the immigration tomorrow.

Kassem, I just heard from some of my friend from different companies, one company got 5 lebanese visas yesterday, and one got 30 lebanese employees from lebanon within the past two days. I think everything back to normal now after the cop18

i really get surprised so badly when i contact the PRO via the HR ...he said security basis is the cause of your visa delay !!!!and knowing that i have been in qatar since 9 months with no irregular behaviors , i addressed the case but he said i don not know why this happened ,it has nothing to do with name and does not know why its being hold instead of canceling .,.....(thank you hamsorian you infected me with your problem) ;-(...

so what is the solution to proceed other than letting go?????.......

Ok ,,,this explains alot ..yes there is major difference in the order of my name ..

and this means that delay is from this simple mistake (in the best guess) because my previous visit visa sponsored by hmc was so smooth(just 5 days processing) ...

the name in the visa should be the same as in your passport.

Your mandoop should apply for the correction of the name so your application could move forward.

but azillan,,,please i want to enquire about this : my family name is different in the visa from that in the passport ,,,is this a problem to cause a delay or suspension in processing ...because 3 months have been pass since its application ...so i guess its not related to cop 18 .......

Azilana, I have heard its getting hard to issue a lebanese visa just recently I mean only for the past 2 weeks so maybe the employees you got they issued their visa coz early november was everything normal? or the problem of issuing a lebanese visa since then ?

even me I have issued myself a 3 months working visa for 7 times maybe more and it was absolutely easy to get unlike now.

We refrained hiring Indian candidates as it's hard to get Indian working visa plus the document attestations takes forever.

One issue I encountered was with one of our Sri Lankan driver's travel documents were detected as falsified (at first)and that turned a RED LIGHT with the Immigration and the CID got involved.

It turned out that he came to Qatar 4 years ago, went home and came back early this year WITH A DIFFERENT PASSPORT and NAME was missing a few letters/words.

That is why the CID got involved and it was pending for 4 months until we presented the driver to CID/Immigration and have this issue sorted out. Thank GOD its finished.

OR...the company sponsoring you may have pending issues with Labor, Immigration or CID....who know?

Better check with your Mandoop...he may have some information about it.

On experience, the longest wait was 5 working days to get a lebanese business visa.

Working visas, we already have visa block for that when the law firm opened for business...it's the person getting approved for that visa is what's taking it longer than expected.

I'll see next week what will happen as I told our PRO to put everything on hold and re-submit on the 10th December.

so please ,what is the meaning of issuing work visa with expiry date and still under process at the moi site ..

Out of 9 applications, 2 was rejected. You know what's weird? All of the applicants are lawyers from our Beirut affiliate office.

Last week, we re-applied for a business visa (he got approved previously) and it was rejected this time.

I think it has something to do with the COP18 or something so we'll try re-applying for it by next week.

I don't know what's going on with immigration, like all visa application for different nationalities are getting to be harder and harder and harder....

yes I am in Qatar, been applying for many visas for the last 2 years, jumping from 3 months visa to another. just now thought to be settled and get RP since Ive been hired in very known reputed company but unfortunately the visas are a bit hard.

they just applied for the Lebanese visa last week lets hope inshallah it doesnt take longer than usual :~(
