hi, last March 2006 I left Qatar and had an emergency leave to my country and my previous employer terminate my contract.

But after few months, I've been thinking of going back to Qatar, but I've heard that they banned me for going back for two years. I've been out of Qatar for several months and I thought there's a law that will automatically cancel your visa once your out of Qatar for more than 6 months.

Right now, I'm not sure if my previous employer just bluffing to piss me off. anyone, i need your advice about this.

thanks and have a nice day.

i am working for a co. in qatar. presently i am deputed to the UAE by the same co. on service visa here. But i already hold a residence visa of the same co. in Qatar. While I was here, in UAE, my residence visa in Qatar got expired and is not yet renewed. Now I got another job in Qatar and I want to leave my present co. and join the new job. Can anyone please tell me whether this is possible? Can my new employer apply for a residence permit of Qatar. Is there any ban? If there is then what is the alternative to get a visa. Business visa etc. and what is their duration? Pls. reply.

Better try other mid-east countries like UAE and bahrain.

You are very welcome for the info. There are indeed many other countries, but there seems to be something about Qatar that is very attractive. Perhaps the next time you come, you might find a different and better experience. In the meantime, depending on what you do, you could always find work in the UAE or Oman... close enough to visit :-)

You need a letter of no objection from your former employer if you want to come back to Qatar to work. Otherwise, you have to be out of the country for two years, and then you can apply to a new employer. That's the information I was given when I came here. If your previous employer wants to be mean about it, you will have to wait out the two years, even if you have a potential new sponsor.
