That could allow my wife to stay in Qatar without medical exam but was told by my UK agency that in such case my 8 years old child will not have access to school and my wife not access to any medical care inside Qatar.

Whay I cannot sponsor my son without sponsoring my wife?

Sorry to ask all this on this forum but that's the only place where I managed to get informed.

Tks to all

Why the shhhh on this issue? It's been going on for donkey's years and every Gulf State is the same.

Even the airlines have cheap "visa trip" tickets with no baggage allowance.

I have read that tourist visas of 21 days + 7 days extension (with Australian Passport) are issued. But I have heard of people who have extended up to 3 months before then flying to Bahrain (late 2006). I haven't ever seen official confirmation that this is possible.

Does anyone else know any more details?

You can fly to bahrain every 3 weeks and re-enter on a tourist visa. I know companies here that work that way to avoid the whole RP mess...shhhhh

You can get a 3 week visa upon arrival then you can get a week extension at a cost of 55 riyals. Total time 28 days. But it does depend on what passport you come in on.

Below is the link to the Qatar Governments website. It covers visit visas there.

Hope this has helped.
