Good day for all QL'ers!

Well i have got something to get clarified, can you guys look into this and help me?

My friend was working there in UAE (Dubai) as a Fashion Designer, for one of the leading fashion boutiques in Jumeirah which was owned by Al Fattan Group.
She signed on a contract for 2 years, but had to break the contract after 1 and half yrs of service since she had to go to back to India for some domestic urgency.

My question is, is there any website or something like that where we can search whether she have got a ban to land up looking for a better job? Some of her colleagues working there in DXB said that she have got a life time ban. But we were totally surprised to hear this shocking news!

Can you please help on this matter?

Regards,
Vish.

tinkerbell10 : She is working in Qatar right now. Means she have not got a GCC Ban kinda stuff!

britexpat & landloverreview : She officially submitted her resignation letter by hand to the employer. But the employer rejected it. She again prepared the same and submitted. Again it was been rejected by her employer. Then she faxed it to her home, and she came along with the resignation letter and told the PRO to proceed with her cancellation. And they took her PATAKA back and the visa was cancelled. And while she reached airport, she was asked to pay 1000 DHMS as cancellation fee. And she have got the receipt of that amount paid as cancellation fee. She was settled with all the pending funds, of course her VISA is cancelled and its stamped on her RP in passport.

How did she resign? Did she sent an official email or a formal letter or just an oral resignation?

Did not they put a cancellation stamp on her passport before she fly?

I had a six years contract with an employer in Dubai and I breached it after 2 and half years. They put be me on year ban instead of six months but the Labour Ministry they asked me that I am aware of the ban period , did u get your final settlement etc etc.

Did not your friend go through all these legal procedures?

From what i understand , the labour office can give you a lifetime ban if you leave your job without informing your employer (abscond)

This just applies to work. you can still visit.

Yeah, what i have heard is they impose a life time ban only for those who are involved in some theft, robbery, or absconding kinda cases. The Boutique where she was working was owned by one of the Emirati Lady (sponsor) and her dad belongs to the Royal Family (and of course she does). Sponsor refused to approve her resignation at first and she agreed finally after her repeated requests.

And i dnt have much friends in Dubai right now to enquire about the status!

What to do???

A life time ban for not completing the contract term? I can't believe that. If there is a life time ban then there should be something serious. You should ask someone in Dubai to check and find.
