Family visa

I'm moving to Doha for work next month. They told me that my family (husband and child) must come after a month in order for their visa to be arranged. If we all come together and they get a visa upon arrival (I think tourst visa is called) can we change the type of visa later without having to exit country? My son is only 5 months old and I can't leave him behind not even for a day! Anyone has done this? Thanks a lot!

so your wife got a visa from the hotel before travelling to Qatar? Can you please clarify? And also, did she needed to have a return ticket? I will have a one-way ticket and so are they... Thanks!!

When you brought your wife, are already working here for a period that means you have an RP already. Because company can only process family visa if you have RP!

The easiest is to get a hotel visa from one of the hotels in Doha. The Visa is valid for one month, which will be adequate time for the company to process the Family Visa. Later you can change the visit visa to a family/work visa without exit. I did this when I brought my wife here as she didn't want to stay away from me even for a day after our marriage!!! Pls PM me on QL to give more details of the hotel, but any top class hotel will be able to do it for you. You will have to shell off about QR1,000 per person but at the end of the day it is worth it!! Good luck with your visa.

make sure that everything your company is saying to you is real. But the problem is you are communicating to them not face to face.

Just be very cautious about your action specifically you are a woman sponsoring your husband and child. It is a special consideration here so just be very cautious.

Hammett , NOC is totally different issue than exit permit .

NOC : Non Objection certificate , you need this in case you want to change your work later .

No, with a multiple exit visa you can go in and out as you like.

this is scary... what if you have a multiple entry/exit visa? Do you still need NOC?

Or do a search on QL on NOC and read about thousands of cases where poor people are trapped against their will and don't get NOC.

You still want to come?

Poor soul! So, they haven't told you what NOC is? It means that you are at the will of your sponsor. He decides when you can go. Without his No Objection Certificate you cannot do many things in Qatar, including leaving the country!

I hope it will work for you! Tell me if it did. By the way what is NOC?

I brought my wife on a business visa , and i tried to convert it for a family visa and it was been rejected even i had all the requirements and papers , but seems i need some NOC because she was on a business visa .

today i am applying for a visit visa and they told me you need only to pay some fine to change the visa without leaving the country . i am waiting today the answer if it will work or not .

but take in consideration sometimes visa process might face delays . i m paying 200 QR everyday since 9 November because business visa expired
