Expired Visa - Fine/Penalties

Calling the attention of those who has knowledge re: VISA
My work visa has already expired.
I have resigned from my job, effective 1 month from today, so I asked my company not to renew my visa.
Does anyone knows how much is the penalty per day and who is responsible for paying the penalty? Is it me or my company?
Do you know what are the consequences under these circumstances?

steven, im back with an answer.

the 3 months guarantee period is given whether you renew or not. you can go out of qatar even if your company didnt renew your RP. this is according to our mandoub (hope he is correct!), otherwise, you will only need to pay QR10 per day.

and dont you worry boy, you wont be detained for having expired visa. you just cant go out without paying the penalty if there's any.

chill!

i normally ask reliable sources first (not from my own knowledge) before i give conclusive reply to inquiries in this forum. given the facts that you added/clarified changes the cimcumstances. its currently lunchbreak, il get back to you when i get more appropriate answer.

Are we sure of this?

I hope that is correct!

Remember: I have expired work visa.

And though I'm not sure yet of the exact date of my departure, maybe I'll be leaving qatar after 2.5 mos after its expiry.

You know I went to our embassy, i was told that the grace period is only applicable to those who will renew their visa. He said, "grace period to renew". So if I have no intension to renew, I will pay the fine.

I really dont want to believe what he said... but what if he was correct.

Can someone be put to jail because of expired visa?

Please share your thoughts!!!

Thanks...
