As of 2 days ago the new immigration law took effect. Not sure if things changed, but my child was refused to leave the country. He is 2 months old and has a family visit visa, but needs to leave the country in order for it to take effect. They have told us to go to immigration for an exit visa, but can give us no information as to how to get one or what documents to take with us.
This is not correct: My 2 expat neighbours have had their babies in Doha got passports for them, then put them on husbands sponsorship in no time. Exit visa is required only for the main sponsor = Father. The family members do not require exit visas.
Hey if u're under u're husband's sponsorship then neither you nor u're children should need exit permits. I am on a family residence permit myself (under my father's sponsorship) and I have never ever needed an exit permit myself (and I am 23!)
As for as i know, there is no need for exit permit for a wife & daughter if the wife is under husband's sponsorship. It is just needed for the person who is under the sponsorship of a company....
So, go ahead, absolutely there is no problem & no need to obtain exit permit...
so we don't need to get an exit visa for her? or do we? and when we re-enter she doesn't need a visa? ...sorry rules and regulations sometimes confuse me here lol
baby is only 6 weeks old not under any sponsorship as yet, company told my husband that we had to leave and come back in before she can we put on the family rp.
is this information correct? if she isn't on any visa as of yet will we have trouble getting out of the country?

NOT CORRECT? To clarify . . .
What I meant is the re-entry of the child.
For the mother no problem especially if she is
under her husband's sponsorship.

I think it is better to apply for the child's
RP before you go out of the country. There is
no need for an exit permit for kids but you might
encounter problems upon re-entry here in Qatar.
You could ask other mandoops for second opinion
just to be sure.
