Estimate of no. of days it takes to get the RP

Hi guys,

My company is applying for my RP. Current stage is that, I will be going to the medical commission tomorrow for the blood test etc.

I need to know whether the process will complete by Dec 17 i.e., approximately 35 days. I need to be back in my home country by this date as my wife is expecting.

In such a scenario, should i take the risk of applying for the RP or should i postpone it.

Thanks

I'll have my finger printing on Thursday cause the PRO said each company is assigned a day of the week by the CID dept.

Two weeks after that should be fine.

Canarybird, with which office did you follow up every day? with immigration or your PRO?

Thanks

Glad to hear that as this could have been a hazzard for you.

One thing you should do is keep calling to find out if the blood thingy is finished. Mine was done the first time within three days, however, aftert he fingerprinting and submitting the documents they say it takes 21 days.

I went myself everyday after a week and finally got it after two weeks. Main thing is to keep checking so they don't forget you.

One other thing just make sure your exit permit is ready in advance to leave the country as this can also be a hazzard

If you are going for Medical tomorrow then after that it will take 5-6 days to get a call from your PRO for fingerprinting.

I think you will have to join with him only for that.

After fingerprinting it will take 2-3 weeks depending on your PRO's followup with department. Usually its their routine job so they are less bothered about somebody's problem unless he get instruction by his Boss(HR manager) to do it fast.

ANyway good luck but i think you dont have very short notice to go back.

All the best to you.

Hi guys thanks for your responses. Three weeks should be fine. I just hope our fixer (PRO) dosen't cause any unnecessary delays. I'v found these guys to be highly unreliable.

Do i need to go through the PRO at every stage or can i go directly to the departments concerned? For example, can i go to the CID for finger printing myself. The PRO said that Thursday is the only day in the week he goes and i'll have to go with him.

After fingerprinting, what are the other steps left? I know there was a post earlier listing all the steps which i read a long time back but can't find it now.

Canarybird, appreciate your concern. But actually, i don't need a vacation. I'm working as a consultant on daily rates..... so its totally flexible. No issues with my employer (who is American), it's just the PRO that gives me the stress.

it usually take less than a month after finger printing...

Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.

like earlier mentioned it takes a max of 3 weeks from the day of the medical. ours was done even faster, we got the rp stamped on the pp in less than 2 weeks after the medical.

Hi Guevara

I don't think our fixer is up to much, i have been in Qatar 7 weeks and still do not have my permit.

Regards.

In this time you expect your employer to give you vacation?? Why come to Qatar at this stage, wait have your baby and then come, unecessary anguish for nothing.

Even in Europe people expecting a baby don't go abroad in the last three months what were you thinking.

it takes maximum 3 weeks after you finish your medical, even it it was not ready by the time you want to travel you still have the option of getting a one time exit visa which would cost your company 22o QR.
