Driving lic.- Saudi to Qatar driving lic.

Mr. Prof X. Did u r holder of Saudi License? What is present process, please tell. I have Saudi Driving License and wan to change in Qatar. Will it work............

Saudi license is no longer being exchanged :/ Driving school is now required.

Hi Guys, FINALLY I HAD MY QATARI DRIVERS LIC. , MY ANSWERS TO MY QUESTIONS BELOW,

I have a Saudi Driving Lic. and i want to apply for a Qatar driving lic. my question is,

1. Do i need NOC from the company? some are saying that its not required anymore.

YES, DEFINITELY NOC IS IS REQUIRED IN OBTAINING DRIVERS LIC... AND FORGET THOSE PEOPLE WHO IS SAYING ITS NOT REQUIRED ANYMORE.

2. Am i qualify to have a Qatar driving lic. if my profession in my visa say PROFESSIONAL.

YES. MY PROFESSION IN MY RP SAYS IAM A TECHNICIAN BUT IN MY VISA ITS SAYS PROFESSIONAL. MEANING TO SAY I AM A PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIAN. TRAFFIC DEPT. TOLD ME THAT THERE ARE TWO CATEGORIES FOR TECHNICIAN , PROFESSIONAL AND LABOR. JUST CHECK IT ON YOUR VISA.

3. do they will take my original Saudi driving lic. once i had the Qatar lic.?

YES I HAD IT BACK.I JUST BEEN THERE FOR ONLY 15MINS TO PROCESS ALL.

can anyone tell me if same is applicable to Omani Driving license too. As I am moving to Qatar by next month. Any guidance/past experience on this issue will be really helpful for me.

Hello everyone,

I went today to Traffic department in Madinat Khalifa (Opening Hours from 6 to 12 and 01 to 05 PM)

1. The filed form which I got from internet with one ID photo glued and one extra photo. (this form should be filed also by the doctor after the vision test, you have to do it before going to traffic dept to save time, it will cost you 30 Qar in any medical center)

2. Letter from company (in arabic with list of certified signatory)

3. Original & Copy of : Saudi driving licence, Qatar ID,

4. You have to pay 250 Qar as fees, no cash payment allowed, only by debit or credit card.

5. Got my Qatar Driving licence 5 min after

6. Extra : I get back my Saudi licence too :p

I changed my Saudi to Qatar last year October.

It was very simple procedure.

I approached the Traffic Department near Airport E ring road.

got the application typed in 10 Qr and along with that attached my RP and a copy of Saudi Licence and two photo graphs and eye test done there itself.

within an hour I had both license in my hand(saudi and Qatar)

Rules at present I have no Idea.

Yes I heard about this new rules but I think it's just regarding the Professionals who can't get DL anymore.

I'll post here inshallah once got my RP and apply for my Saudi DL conversion ;-)

The problem is there is a new rule and I think every body is confused.

Guys if any body has tried to convert his saudi lic. with thus new labour banned rule. Please let us know.

Still dnt have my rp. But once I have it I will try to qpply my self and I will let you know

Me too I exited saudi and 15 days here in qatar, my friend told me u can convert it directly and within few hours

Hi, I have a valid Saudi DL too, is't easy to convert it to qatari DL once I'll get my RP ? even if I didn't have a Saudi iqama since I quit KSA with final exit visa, They will check for validity of my KSA iqama ? or no relation between DL and Iqama validity ? U can use ur Saudi license in Qatar until u gets ur Qatar I'd. . No need of noc from the company. As per new rules, professional is not eligible for lisence, but u can try as u already processing a gcc license. They will give ur Saudi license back Thank you
