divorced woman can be the sponsor of her son (below 18) ? someone checked with the passports and visas section and they told him she cannot. it doesnt make sense. she is working and having a qatari ID and divorced. Why she cant sponsor her own child?

because she is a woman. that's all. a friend of mine is married and cannot sponsor her child here. she had her husband come and work here but since the salary he got is less than the minimum, they still didn't allow the kid to come live here. even if her salary alone is more than enough to sponsor the child and all our other male colleagues on the same salary level already got their entire families to come here on their sponsorship.

the only thing they allow the kid is a family visit visa, not an rp.

It may be that she doesn't earn enough; she would still need written permission from the ex; or she is not in a profession that permits sponsorship. Pick one.
