Hi,
I am a Civil Er. I got my visa from my sponsor and its mentioned Type of wok : PROFESSIONAL

My friends and relatives say that ENGINEER should be mentioned in that field. Now does this make a huge difference during my stay? Do I lose any benefits? or in future when just incase I am looking for another job?

Not much difference, though the only disadvantage you hold is the on arrival visa.

As far as i know it will not affect your work and you stay in Qatar. However, in case you want to be a Registered Engineer in Qatar, your visa profession should be Engineer. There are other benefits of Engineer visa are; Easy to get family resident visa, on arrival visa for other GCC countries etc.
