Confused -- please enlighten experts!

Hi all,

My best friend and her husband invited me in for a short vacation. I was suppose to travel to Qatar on Oct. 03, 2012 but I was offloaded apparently because I didn't have any Affidavit of Support from my sponsors (friend & her husband). It was fine with me as I was under the impression that the document is meant to protect me and to confirm indeed that I will be accommodated.

My sponsors went to Philippine Consulate (Qatar) recently and I was just informed that they do not issue an Affidavit of Support for a Tourist Visa. We don't know exactly what to believe now. I already e-mailed BI and I'm not sure if they will respond to my query. I am hoping some you here can help me out.

if you have a friend who is in Qatar with RP status can get a visiting visa for thru some travel agency. they charge around QR 600+.

oliveoyl your post is confusing. where are you now? you must start these procedures from the Philippines and not Hongkong.

Seasons it is not a tourist visa. It's a visit visa. Her friend is sponsoring her on a visit visa.

If you are coming from Hk, Yes that's it.. But from Philippines it's entirely a different procedure next to it being impossible you land here in Qatar on a tourist visa..

I forgot you need to authenticate the copy of the visa at the Qatar Embassy in the Philippines. Go to any DHL office and they will do it for you for a fee. It will be delivered to your door. That is where the visa sticker comes into place in your authenticated copy of the visa. Good luck.

If you are already in HK all you have to do is just book your ticket and fly to Qatar.. There is no need for you to go to the Embassy.

Im a filipino. and iam a tourist here in Hongkong. i want to go to qatar as a tourist visa. My friend secured meme a tourist visa for qatar. Is there a need for me to go to qatar embassy here in hongkong or just book a ticket and go to Qatar..

My visa is just being emailed to me, is printed copy allowed? Visa and ticket lang needed if you are take your poiint from Hong kong?

Well Philippine Immigration might ask a letter of invitation from your friend and affidavit of support. Your friend can get an affidavit of support at Phil. embassy here in Qatar. It means she will be responsible for your temporary stay here. You need also to pay travel tax in Tourism at T.M. Kalaw, Mnla. You need a copy of your visa. And the original to be submitted at Doha airport on the day of your arrival. Welcome.
