I would appreciate answers from Canadians established or about to establish in Qatar. I would like to know is we need to bring our fingerprints and police certificate with us when mobilizing to work in Qatar. if the answer is yes, does it need to be stamped by the Qatari Embassy in Washington( there is no Qatari diplomatic representation in Canada)

your answers and advices are very much appreciated

Milou.

Hello fellow Canadians,

I am a warehouse manager in Vancouver, BC and now staying here in Doha, Qatar. Are there any jobs available for a warehouse manager, or maybe in Quality assurance? I also have an experience in administrative jobs and supervisory positions.

Hope to hear something!

thanks,

I received your email and with all due respect, these questions should be answered by your employer.

If they cannot answer, or are unwilling to answer, DO NOT COME TO QATAR.

The LAST thing you want is an employer who cannot properly instruct, support and sponsor its employees.

No, the police clearance certificate does not have to be stamped by embassy or consulate.

It is a certificate based on "name search" (CAD 35. +/-), as opposed to "fingerprint search" which is much more expensive to produce.

When you're dealing with an employer, you do not take verbal instructions. You ask your questions in writing and you request written answers. In your case, you should have a written list of documents that your employer expects to receive from you: copies of degrees, marriage certificate, police clearance, etc.etc.

I don't want to confuse you but i have also heard that QP is not asking for police clearance any more? may be just a rumor. Get the required document list from QP/HR, then proceed.

Good luck !

If you're coming to Doha to work, your employer or "sponsor" will tell you, what document to submit to him, or bring with you. Normally a police clearance certificate is required from your home base country. Fingerprinting is done here locally, when you apply for your resident permit once you get here.
