Hi, I am doing a visa run and I contacted the Canadian embassy they said I need to be out of Qatar for 24 hours to come back in but to check with the Ministry of interior. But the latter never answers the phone. Can someone provide me with some informaion and even a link on this.

thanks

hi, you can only re-new a tourist visa once. which was done, this why a visa run is being done. So I can just re-enter immediately is what everyone is saying?

One month, extendable 1 month max. After that you need to leave and come back.

Canadian and approx 1 month ago had to do a visa run. I basically flew out and flew back in immediately. Did not have to wait 24 hours. The whole thing took about 4 hours. This was to renew my tourist visa.

Ive never heard of a 24hr wait before coming back. If you have a tourist visa, as a Canadian, you should have 30 days extendable for a further 30 days - by going to the immigration office near the airport and paying QR100 extra. Even cheaper than a visa run..

I've never heard of that requirement but the last one I remember anyone doing was 5 years ago. Check with immigration as you are leaving to be sure if you can't find out beforehand.
