Can I get a Qatari RP? I have a Bahrain work visa, but not an RP

Hello Everyone,

I'd be really grateful if someone could help me, I've asked everyone I know here and nobody really seems to know!

Basically, I worked in Bahrain for a few months earlier this summer. I dont want to bore you all with the details, but basically, the person who employed me was really looking for a slave, not an engineer, and he forced me to work 6 days a week (not stated in the contract) and lied blatantly about my holiday allowance. He also kept finding reasons to deduct from my pay and housed me in a truly dreadful, dirt cheap appartment with three other people (men and women = illegal!) sorry to rant! in the end, I left. I gave the job a few months because I wanted to give it a chance, but to be honest i hated it from the beginning.

Anyway, I never got a RP from Bahrain. I entered on a tourist visa. I had a paper visa stating my name etc and I did the medical test, but there is nothing in my passport saying I ever worked there. I have now come to Qatar and am working in a wonderful job which I love. I have a visa, i assume, as I am working legally, but I am yet to get my RP. Will I be able to get one? Will my new employer be able to find out about Bahrain? (I haven't told them for fear of being turned down. Maybe not a good idea, but I was really desperate for a job, have family to support, and the employers didn't ask.)

Please help! So sorry to go on so long.

Emma

there is not going to be any issues if your previous employer does not take any action on you. The criminal database of all GCC countries are synched, and hence if he registers a police complain against you in Bahrain also, you might see some problems here... if not, no worries.

As per your post you do not possess a valid RP of Bahrain so what is the problem in obtaining a Qatari RP?

Hi,

What kind of a visa your holding now? from what u r telling u worked for few months under visit visa in Bahrin and nothing in the passport expert u r entry details to Bahrin. what i feel is that it wouldn't be a problem for u in Doha for getting an RP done. have u completed u r Medical or finger formalities. in any case i will check with my friend too and if i have some info will let u know.

Rgds

John.
