Can I buy my own visa?

Hi guys, good afternoon.

Question please... can I buy my own Qatar visa? I've heard some people mention that one can buy a 3 or 5 year visa for around 10,000 - 15,000QR... is this true? What would be the requirements? Exceptions?

I'm a 28 year old single female from the Philippines. I have been working in Dubai for almost 5 years as a secretary and would like to move to Qatar but finding it difficult to get a job as I think companies prefer to hire admin staff locally.

Thanks a lot for reading and looking forward to some replies! Appreciate all the help.

is not about whether you CAN or you CANNOT..

it is using common sense before asking on Public Forum how it's better to violate the law...

I just want to add one thing here. People who make laws, they create the way to break it first before enforcing it on commons.

Anyways, i dont want to give anyone a false statement that 'No u can not buy a work visa'. There are always loop-holes, exceptions and above all money can make any rule/regulations/policies bend at it's knees.

Raine sweety, you have been working in Dubai for 5 years you say... Is it legal to buy a visa there? How about a RP?

"residence visa" = RP (Residence Permit). It cannot be granted for no reason. And it is limited by 3 years. After that you have to renew it.

but.. I guess you need this visa for work, right?

so my advice is to find the job and you will get your working visa/RP.

You can't even get a visa on arrival, let alone any other type. And if you try through the so called 'agents' you will find yourself screwed.

Yes, As Qatarisun said, IT IS PURELY ILLEGAL...don't even try....

This is a very sensitive issue to discuss on a Public Forum like this :(

And thank you for clearing up the validity of the RP.

so what kind of visa can be issued for 3-5 years? Visitors visa?? use a common sense mate!

anyway, even the RP is usually limited by 3 years, and must be renewed when expired. There is no such thing like 5 years visa.

qatarisun, that was why I posted on this forum to get clarifications for what a PRO there in Doha had claimed that one can 'buy' a visa, and not necessarily a working visa.

You have to be hired by some company first, or at least to find a sponsor, then they will issue a visa for you….you cannot just "buy" a working visa and come to qatar.. doing what??? to work as WHO??

I think the relevant authorities should look into this issue closer..

Well I'm sorry to ruffle your feathers but I was not aware that this issue is a "pure crime". I posted on the forum to get clarifications and answers to know if what I heard is true. You didn't have to be so rude.

Thanks a lot Asanas, Charanmafiriyals and Hussain for the replies.

I heard about this from a PRO there in Doha. I wasn't able to get any additional info yet... still following up.

How can buying a visa be illegal? :(

Any company I can contact for this?

Thanks again!

mayubhussain, how the company which gives a CURRENT sponsorship, can give a NOC letter, which is required from the PREVIOUS company?? unless this NOC as FAKE as the visa...

I got your back on this one QS... purely stupid. I thought the mods usually removed posts that were of an illegal nature?

well buying a visa is illegal. However many small companies do sell a work visa and later provides a NOC.

Yes you are correct, nearly 15K-18K is required to buy this kind of transferable visa and once you get a job after arriving in Qatar. The company who gave you visa and sponsorship will give you NOC.
