Is 14 weeks too a await ?

Great site. Great people! I am pleased to have found you.
I have submitted to the HR dept. the notarised copies of certificates, copy of passport and the other basic details on 15/05/11 for a work entry visa.
In late June I was told the Labour dept process was completed and awaiting security clearance.
I usually check with the HR dept. every couple of weeks or so. All I get is the "we have not yet receievd it".
Do I have to worry by now?

of course you have to worry. It takes 3 business days to issue a Work visa. If it's not issued in 3 months, there is something wrong.

I am due to arrive Doha on a business trip 19th - 22nd Sept. I trust this will not affect the residency visa application. I travel on a UK passport.
Get in touch with your HR by 7th of Sep. and start worrying after 15th of Sep. Govt. matters starts being put off by mid of Ramadan and resumes slowly a week after Eid.
