If you are travelling to Qatar, You book a Qatar airways ticket...and let your friend in Qatar go to Visa Messaging Qatar Airways office in Qatar and complete the process of Visa Messaging..If this has been completed successfully..then you will have no issue in boarding the flight...
If the visa messaging is not successful, you will lose around QAR 190 for Ticket cancellation. But it is still worth if you are able to fly.
