I would just like to make a comment here about the Pharmacy in Grand Hypermarket in Al Kharitiyat.
Last week I got bitten by a mosquito and went to this Pharmacy to buy some cream for insect bites, I clearly explained to them what I wanted and showed them the bites I had, he clearly understood what I needed because he offered to sell me some anti-histiman tablets, I just replied I don't want any tablets just some insect cream, he went behind the counter and give me this tube of cream and then charged me 95QR for it, at the time I was shocked at the price but paid it and left, when I returned home I opened the cream and applied it to the bites I had.
After doing this 3 or 4 times it made absolutely no difference so I tried to read the writing on the tube of cream which was all in French but it did say clearly it was a skin repair cream ( more for make up than insect bites )
I returned to the Pharmacy this week with the tube of cream and asked for a explanation, they told me that the cream he sold me was good for skin repair, I questioned him many times and reminded him about showing him the bites I had and that the cream they actually sold me was not for bites. After about 10 minutes he gave me some proper insect bite cream which cost 11QR, they would not take back the skin repair cream which cost me 95QR and sent me on my way.
Is this a case of seeing a white expat and a thinking its an easy way to make money !!!!!!!!!!
